Welcome to miningmx
miningmx is the name of my new online mining media enterprise, a publication held in joint venture with Finance Week, a business unit of Media 24 which is, in turn, a division of South Africa’s largest media group, the US-listed Naspers Limited.

miningmx is built on the experience of Mineweb (formerly Miningweb), a publication I was invited to found and edit in April, 1999. This is a function I performed with enormous pleasure. By May 2003, however, it became clear that something greater beckoned.

As with Mineweb in its heyday, miningmx is focused on producing high quality news reportage and commentary. Focus is an important word in the business repertoire of miningmx. That’s why we have a hard-nosed interest in producing the best African mining investment news for international readers. It’s about African mining ... for the whole world.
